KAILA NILES, Creative Director & owner

California-native and mother of two daughters, Kaila graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in English. She has worked primarily in interior design, concept design, styling, and graphic design in New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles for companies such as Joie, Restoration Hardware, and Alonzo King Lines Ballet. The stars aligned when she relocated to Sacramento and met Emily Wilder. The two women became immediate friends and creative collaborators, creating both Wool Design Studio and Jeune Wine together. Kaila enjoys working on a brand or space from inception, consulting on everything from the big picture to the smallest detail.  Outside of design, Kaila’s greatest passion is nature; hiking and escaping to the ocean are what ground and inspire her.

EMILY WILDER, Creative director & owner

Born and raised in California, Emily has always been surrounded by art and creativity, a way of living and interacting with the world that she has passed down to her own daughter. After returning to Sacramento, she worked as a stylist and as an interior designer for local firms and independently. Coming together with Kaila has been creatively expansive for both designers, as they compliment and challenge each other toward an even greater vision. Emily loves working conceptually on the overall vision for a space or brand and finds the most joy designing custom furniture pieces for clients and for fabrication. When she isn’t creating for Wool and Jeune, she’s a self-taught stock trader who is always traveling or plotting her next big trip.
